What this website stores
A technical summary of how the website works.
- Your account: your name, email address, a securely hashed password and, if you turn it on, two-factor authentication settings.
- Places you save and reviews you write. Reviews show your first name and the initial of your last name.
- Your progress in experiences and learning paths, your quiz answers and scores, game results, participation points, badges and certificates. Quiz scores are shown only to you. If you are not signed in, progress is kept only in your current browsing session.
- Trips you plan. A trip is private unless you make a share link; anyone with that link can view it (not change it), without your name. Stopping sharing turns the link off.
- A certificate’s check page, which anyone with its link can open, shows your first name, the initial of your last name, the learning path and the date.
- Anonymous usage counts (for example page views). No IP address or browser details are stored, visits are counted with a code that changes every day, and nothing is counted if your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”. Detailed records are deleted after 180 days.
- Cookies: one session cookie and one security (CSRF) cookie. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- Map images are loaded from tile.openstreetmap.org, which, like any website you visit, receives your IP address.
- Videos in experiences come from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo and load only when you press play; those services then receive your IP address.
- You can download everything stored about your account, or delete your account, under Profile and settings. Deleting it removes your account, saved places, trips, progress, points, badges and certificates. Your reviews stay, shown as “Former member”.
